Between Iron Man 2 and Robin Hood, I choose Robin Hood because it is historical (some say it’s mythical) but I believe it is partly true because Robin had lived in disguise.Robin Hood provokes issues and some thinking.
During my childhood, I watched Robin Hood and his merry men on TV. The story of a witty bandit robbing the rich to give the poor is heroic. This time around Ridley Scott brings a different version of Robin Hood. I thank Ridley Scott for making my grey matter gets going as I watch his movie.

When I watched Alice in The Wonderland, I feel there’s an invisible hand gave a hard slap on my face. Pang. Why? It had mad me realize that:
- I haven’t been doing creative writing for quite a long time. Even my latest one is a crap. C’mon. It doesn’t make sense and it doesn’t provoke any kind of thinking.
- I am actually able to make my own decision without being influenced by anyone and I am my own master. I am an easily influenced person. I am easily carried away by emotion and stress lately. I should be more like Alice. Start a journey that can make me find my ‘muchness’.
- I shouldn’t give in to anything that intimidate me. Like, my stress or my ***s.
- I haven’t make my dream come true yet. Too much hard work and less thinking had castrate my brain. My dream of becoming a poet or a writer hasn’t been start. I haven’t started the journey. I am far from my dream.
- My thinking cap doesn’t work well lately.
- I dream less. It’s not a sin to be a dreamer and I used to be it. A dreamer will be able to rhyme, frolicking, dance with no one and talk to the mirror. Ops I forgot. Talking (or writing) nonsense is part of it too (like Lewis Caroll).
Since Tim Burton’s latest masterpiece was an eye-opener, I hope I’ll be more independent in making decision and braver.
Ps (self-note in case I forgot in the future): This is our second Tim Burton after Sweeney Todd.
I thought it’s a chick flix due to its title. Well, I was wronged (moral: never ever judge a movie by its title). I thought it’s almost similar to Johnny Depp’s Chocolate but actually it’s a Thai action movie.
The intro, which was read by a kakkoii Japanese actor, gave me a blow.

If you haven’t watch “Slumdog millionaire”, I highly recommend that movie for you. It was inspired by a novel (Q & A by Vikas Swarup), produced using low budget. The actors are using British accent (with some mixture of Indian accent as well) and they are not A-list actors and actresses, mind you. They are from slums and nobody. But the movie have become a phenomenon in any cinema worldwide. This movie is discussed widely, because of its’ religious issues, poverty, romanticism and all. This movie is worth to be watched many times and in case you want to buy the original DVD or Blue-ray disc. I give three thumbs up for this movie! Read the rest of this entry »
Lately I am addicted to classical stuffs. I’ve watched black and romantic movies (Roman Holiday, Casablanca), the great love story that runs for almost 4 hours ‘Gone with the wind’, the ‘Ghost’ movie starring Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze, The English patient, and Out of Africa (I think Meryl Streep looks beautiful in it). And heck, watching romantic movies makes me become more soapy. My mom was quite disturbed by my boohoo. She can hear me from downstairs. Hahah. Another current activity is, I am addicted to a particular classical song from The Shirelles.

It’s coming worldwide. The famous musical is finally being filmed and Pierce Brosnan is in! How cool is that? I don’t care if he can’t sing but I know the fact that he can act. Since I used to be in Plymouth, I know the fact that musical or theater is being showed in Plymouth first rather than London (because Plymouth’s audience is hard to be pleased). And Mamma Mia has travelled wide and far ever since. So, Mamma Mia! musical have been going around and still received great applause. Not it has moved to a greater step, Hollywood.
Uhhh, I can’t wait to hear their British accent (well except, Meryl Streep).
If it gives the same impact like musical, people will be singing and humming, although the movie ended. If you’re lucky, some might be dancing merrily. So, who’s going to put on retro fashion back?
